Riding High- or Hung Over

April 27, 2009

Riding High- or Hung Over

Now that the first stage of the TOC is complete, are you rock star struttin' or are you just trying to relocate your dignity after a "walk of shame" away from the course? Did you throw darts on your first couple of shots only to follow 'em up with a trigger -punched disaster completely off paper? Maybe you smooth-stomped a mud hole in the course and are just waiting for your invitation to Regionals. Either way, let's hear a few tales from the weekend. I'm looking for a few reports and stories like: " I can't believe I fell off the boat!" or, " That Jimmy Jackson is a stud."

Save the complaints and compliments, and send then to info@totaloutdoorsmanchallenge.com, where those can be read and addressed.

Hey I had a great time trying to qualify this weekend but there are a few things. I wish there was more accurate info on the event as well as promotion. I only had a week to prepare but I guess a total outdoorsman should always be ready for anything which I was!(scored 2nd out of 70-80 people) don't know if I scored high enough to be in the top 200 but it would be nice!!!) ;-). I wish I had know that I could try on both days also I sure would have done that to better my score. All in all it was a great experience and I hope to be in the top 200!!

by the way, had my daughter with me during the qualifier. trying like hell to expose today's youth to the outdoors. she's only 6 and has been going to the ranch with me hunting for a couple of years now. i wish more female hunters would do this sort of thing to help further the future hunting careers of young girls. i live in suburbian bubble of big d and hunting/fishing is WAY underexposed. people have no idea.....

the kiddo really enjoyed it and the officials were kind enough to play with her hello kitty/hannah montana crap while i proceeded to try and rack up points. kudos to those guys.

Scores are being tabulated over the next few days. I would expect the scores to be posted by late this week or early next week.

well said rafe.......I have a younger daughter myself and I would love to know that thier will be opportunities for her one day. I really think that the womens industry is just about to break open. I would love to know how to get into the industry myself. I want to be able to help more women be confident enough to get involved in the outdoor lifestyle. Wonder if doing well in TOC can get me the right contacts I need to do this???

Hey THG...........go to www.laurafrancese.com

email her and see what she says. she competes all the time. i've seen her up in the northwest and a few other places. i think she lives in NY but don't hold that against her. anyway, she'd probably be receptive to questions. at least she'd be a sounding board and point you in some of the right directions.

Had a great time competing at the Katy Tx. Bass Pro. Just wasnt sure that the people doing it 10 times in a row over and over until they got their score high enough should be considered as true competitors.

The people that ran the course more than once will meet their maker and have their butt handed to them. Karma is a wonderful tool of humble.
