1) Will lunch be provided at the event for competitors?

Qualifiers: No, it will take about an hour for a competitor to go through the event, so there is no need to serve lunch.

Regionals: Depending on the response, snacks may be provided.

Championship: Yes, lunch is provided during the days of competition.

2) Do I have to bring any hunting or fishing gear to compete?

Qualifiers: Yes, competitors must bring their bows and arrows with them.

Regionals: All gear will be provided

Championship: All gear will be provided

3) Do I have to wear any special clothing for the event?

Qualifiers: We recommend you wear comfortable clothes and shoes so you can move around easily.

Regional: You will be supplied with shirts from Mossy Oak and Under Armour and hats to wear for the event.  We recommend you wear comfortable shorts pants and shoes.

Championship: You will be supplied with shirts and pants/shorts from Mossy Oak and Under Armour, shoes from Rocky Boots and hats to wear for the event.

4) If I make the Championship, will my travel or accommodations be covered?

If you are in the top 3 at the Regionals, you will receive a stipend of $200.

5) Will I be on TV? If so, what network?

The Championship will be televised on The Outdoor Channel.  The show will appear in the 4^th Quarter of 2009.

6) Can my family and friends come to cheer me on?

Of course!

7) Are there any age requirements to compete?

You must be 21 years of age or older to compete.

8) How do you score the event?

Each competitor receives a score for each discipline. He or She is then ranked against the other competitors. For example, John scored better than all 50 competitors at the Archery discipline – he gets a score of 1.

9) My sister works for Bass Pro Shops, can I still compete?

No, employees and immediate family members of Bonnier Corporation, Bass Pro Shops and other participating sponsors are not allowed to compete.

10) Do I have to purchase anything at Bass Pro Shops in order to compete?

No purchase is necessary to compete in the event.

11) Do I need to pre-register for the event in order to compete?

No, you can register at the Qualifiers.  However, you would like to pre-register, click on the “Entry Form” tab to print out pre-registration form.

12) Where are the championships being held?

The Championship is being held at Dogwood Canyon in Lampe, MO.

13) Do I need to bring any form of ID to compete?

Yes, please bring a state issued ID with you to the competition.

14) How will I know if I’m eligible for the Regionals?

If you are one of the top 200 sportsmen nationwide that are eligible for the Regional competitions, you will be contacted by the Total Outdoorsman Challenge organizers by May 15^th.

15) I want to compete, but don’t live near a Bass Pro Shops. Is there another way I can enter?

You can enter for the Wildcard spot.  The winner of the Wildcard heads straight to the Championship to compete with the finalists.  Click on the “Entry Form” tab to take the Wildcard Quiz.

16) Is there a fee to participate or view the event?

No, there is no fee to participate in or view the event.

17) Do I need to sign anything prior to competing?

Before competing you must sign a waiver/release form that will be provided by the Total Outdoorsman Challenge staff at the Qualifiers, Regionals and Championship events.
