Texas Heat
After more than a month of chatter, it’s finally time to turn up the heat in Texas. The Grapevine Regional is not only the first up, but very well may prove to be the toughest competition of the four. Look at who’s coming from the Qualifiers and their scores, combined with the automatic-bid-receiving finalist from last year who choose the Lone Star State, and we have us a pretty stiff competition.
Tom Cooprider, Drew Simon, and Brian Cramer (who, combined, have a 3rd, two 4th, and a 5th places finishes in past TOC Finals) will attempt to two-step their way back to Dogwood. These fellas have been through it, with success, and shouldn’t be surprised at anything the organizers throw at ’em. All three will wish fellow competitors the best and mean it, but when it’s go time they’re gonna try to kick your teeth in.
The archery and air rifle scores of competitors coming from the Quals are outstanding. The games are different and more difficult. But, Bubba, a 50 is a 50, no matter where you shot it. Someone will smoke both of these courses and put a big ole bear hug on winning this deal.
Predictions before you actually see someone compete aren’t wise—there are just too may variables. I have seen a bunch of talented outdoorsmen just fold up like lawn chairs under the pressure, but I have no doubt that there will be some new blood in the finals from this Regional. And anyone advancing from this crowd will be a little bit of worry for the Soul Patch Warrior (a.k.a. Paul Thompson).

I`m glad that Tom, Drew and Brian will be there. I look forward to the competition they will bring. See ya on saturday-bright and early. Bring your game faces, cause I will.
It was all that i thought it would be, alot of great people doing the things we love to do. Congadulations to Brian Cramer for posting a great score and winning at Grapevine. I would like to thank the Blue 3 crew for another outstanding job, you guy's are the greatest. See you in Dogwood Baby...

Congrats Tom and Brian! Who was the third? Hope to see you guys in Dogwood as well. I have two weeks till Independence.
Cory - Third place was won by a guy from Paris, TX ...
Cade Crawford (I think that's his last name). He's a good guy and is great for the TOC. His wife also competed yesterday here at the Grapevine Regional ... btw: she shot a perfect score in the archery during the Qualifiers in April. I have a feeling she'll be back next year. I'm glad Cade won but was also disappointed at the same time because Cade and my Cousin (Jeff Patterson) tied for 3rd place but Cade took it in the tie breaker.
To follow up with what Coop stated above ... thanks to Field and Stream for staying with the TOC and providing us (the outdoorsman) the opportunity to compete in such a great event, and to the Blue 3 crew (Eric, John, Scout, Brian, Brenton and others) y'all did a great job and produced a flawless event. THANKS!!!
Good luck to all you guys and gals that are making plans to compete in the coming weeks.

Jay - Good luck at your regional and I hope to see you in Dogwood. John is a tricky one so be aware of your equipment and practice, practice, practice. You've been there before so just do what you do and you'll be good.
